period-built French Chateau in the heart of the low country. Brown Stone Manor is the home of the Brown family, designed and built by Adolph D. Brown. The primary use for this Chateau is to house Mr. Brown’s art collection and to provide a private residence for him and his growing family. This house will also serve as a show case for Mr. Brown’s design and to entertain his many business associates.Brown Stone Manor is history in reverse being that most homes become historic after 100 years of life. Brown Stone Manor is one of several homes built in America that is built to stand the test of time and become a landmark treasure. What set this home apart from the rest is that it will not take 100 years before the public can see the home and its many treasures, it will be opened immediately to the public for tours. As an architect and builder Mr. Brown is always interested in how things are done and is fascinated in the step by step process of creating and building a historic monument. So he decided to open the grounds and the house for construction tours so that you can see this Chateau as its taking shape.
Brown Stone Manor is set on 4 acres and backs up to a true low country swamp, full of all sorts of different wild life and birds. On the grounds there is a natural turtle pond due to Mr. Brown’s passion to rescue turtles off of the highways of South Carolina. The turtles are brought to the natural pond in Brown Wood Forest. Bird watchers are also welcomed. Come one and all and step back into time to a bygone era.
